Houston we have a problem..

After a restful night sleep in a beautiful historic hotel St. Anthony I (Chappy) and my gal pals headed out. Ya umm it was well interesting. A wrong turn and a two hr. trip out of our way began the day..

Then half way to Houston a flashing oil change sign came on. HOUSTON we have a problem.. Alamo, well they weren't to helpful and we sat in the 102 degree heat in the car that was getting to the degree for two plus hours waiting for a replacement car. A mazda 6 came a while later. We headed out into rush hour traffic and had to skip the space center and scrapbook stores..

We arrived in Galveston shortly before dinner time, checked into our hotel at the Beachcomber Inn. Don't let the name fool you though, a crappy little place before the beach. No stars on the duck scale.. Argh for service.. Anyone into the boorah site for ratings, Mr. Chappy will be visiting it soon for many locals in Galveston.

So we headed out to the drip and the spot. A combo place that we still don't get. Honestly though we don't get the name- the spot---it's like WTF as we had no service for almost 15minutes. We finally decided drinks and move on. Glad we moved on though as we found The Float. A restaurant, bar, and pool all in one. I highly recommend the burritos! Heather let me have a few bites and I also tasted her drink, a crabby something or other. There were a ton of boys running around the restaurant and my pal Frankie purchased each one a smoothie and then an order of nachos for them! Such an awesome cowgirl she is..

We then walked on the beach for a bit and I went and was good luck for a fisherman who caught a speckled sea trout! Quack Quack, I'm thinking this luck thing might be my calling.

Then I decided to ride the waves of the Gulf of Mexico..

I also took a ride on a wave runner with Jason. I was highly impressed with this cool surfer dude.

We walked further down the beach and I visited a damaged hotel from last year's Hurricane Ike. It looked like a beautiful hotel in its time, sitting right over the gulf of mexico. Upon returning from the hotel I took a ride on a skim board with Marcus. Very cool!

I also meet up with the gals who were oh so cute.. Tamori (2) and Emani (5) said it was stinky out on the beach.

And I meet up with 3 great dogs (Pharoe, Molly, Kuma, and owners Leesa and Chance) who thought I was dinner. Luckily Frankie saved me.

We stopped next at Captain Jacks. A Bud Light and an ice tea were had and pictures were taken.

Cheff Reggie was such an awesome guy!

My partner in crime has fallen asleep and I will be going back to my duck bed as soon as my wings can finish typing and adding pictures..

Tomorrow's Adventures shall include a trip to an aquarium, a beach, a scrapbook store (possibly), and the space center in Houston. Not sure if the gals will be staying in Houston or moving back over to Gruene. Apparently they are interested in another float down the Comal River. I didn't make the last trip and since I'm a duck I do love to float, hoping to sneak in with them--hmm wondering if I can jump and/or fly into the cooler of beer. Crossing your wings, oh sorry I mean fingers..

Singing off,
Chappy the Traveling Duck.
