Upon Death.

I've been wondering what will happen next to me as I've had some near death experiences on these travels..

Swords
Zebras
Ostriches
Guns

oh dear, hoping it gets better.

Why does everyone want to kill lil ole' me. For goodness sack I'm just a duck!

Houston we have a problem..

After a restful night sleep in a beautiful historic hotel St. Anthony I (Chappy) and my gal pals headed out. Ya umm it was well interesting. A wrong turn and a two hr. trip out of our way began the day..

Then half way to Houston a flashing oil change sign came on. HOUSTON we have a problem.. Alamo, well they weren't to helpful and we sat in the 102 degree heat in the car that was getting to the degree for two plus hours waiting for a replacement car. A mazda 6 came a while later. We headed out into rush hour traffic and had to skip the space center and scrapbook stores..

We arrived in Galveston shortly before dinner time, checked into our hotel at the Beachcomber Inn. Don't let the name fool you though, a crappy little place before the beach. No stars on the duck scale.. Argh for service.. Anyone into the boorah site for ratings, Mr. Chappy will be visiting it soon for many locals in Galveston.

So we headed out to the drip and the spot. A combo place that we still don't get. Honestly though we don't get the name- the spot---it's like WTF as we had no service for almost 15minutes. We finally decided drinks and move on. Glad we moved on though as we found The Float. A restaurant, bar, and pool all in one. I highly recommend the burritos! Heather let me have a few bites and I also tasted her drink, a crabby something or other. There were a ton of boys running around the restaurant and my pal Frankie purchased each one a smoothie and then an order of nachos for them! Such an awesome cowgirl she is..

We then walked on the beach for a bit and I went and was good luck for a fisherman who caught a speckled sea trout! Quack Quack, I'm thinking this luck thing might be my calling.

Then I decided to ride the waves of the Gulf of Mexico..

I also took a ride on a wave runner with Jason. I was highly impressed with this cool surfer dude.

We walked further down the beach and I visited a damaged hotel from last year's Hurricane Ike. It looked like a beautiful hotel in its time, sitting right over the gulf of mexico. Upon returning from the hotel I took a ride on a skim board with Marcus. Very cool!

I also meet up with the gals who were oh so cute.. Tamori (2) and Emani (5) said it was stinky out on the beach.

And I meet up with 3 great dogs (Pharoe, Molly, Kuma, and owners Leesa and Chance) who thought I was dinner. Luckily Frankie saved me.

We stopped next at Captain Jacks. A Bud Light and an ice tea were had and pictures were taken.

Cheff Reggie was such an awesome guy!

My partner in crime has fallen asleep and I will be going back to my duck bed as soon as my wings can finish typing and adding pictures..

Tomorrow's Adventures shall include a trip to an aquarium, a beach, a scrapbook store (possibly), and the space center in Houston. Not sure if the gals will be staying in Houston or moving back over to Gruene. Apparently they are interested in another float down the Comal River. I didn't make the last trip and since I'm a duck I do love to float, hoping to sneak in with them--hmm wondering if I can jump and/or fly into the cooler of beer. Crossing your wings, oh sorry I mean fingers..

Singing off,
Chappy the Traveling Duck.

The adventures of 2 girls and a duck

Come with us as we travel around the globe.

We both have had a recent loss of our moms and we so needed a break. We decided to adopt a duck and head out and travel across the USA.

A little more info about the duck! The Duck is named Chappy after the cowboy chaps we saw while traveling in Texas.

Our start was Dallas Texas home of Tinsley Lou woohoo!

We headed out and stopped at Willie Nelson's Bar and Grill. Chappy said it was a wonderful experience and ate with Heather a Turkey on a Pretzal Roll. Yummy!

We then stopped at the Inner Space Caverns and took a trip down into the center of the earth in Georgetown, Texas. Chappy wasn't so sure about the bats that were

Our next stop was Gruene,Texas where we stopped at the Girst Mill for dinner. It was delicious! Chappy gave the strawberry wine cooler a 5 out of 5 on the duck scale! The steak salad also a hit-Chappy loved the dressing on the salad!

Chappy then went to the Gruene Hall where we listened to Seth Williams. Chappy really liked watching the cowboys dance the two step.

The next day was spent tubing the Comal River. Chappy highly recommends Texas Tubes.
Chappy then headed south to the Natural Bridge Wildlife Safari, where Chappy had a near death experience being attacked by both a zebra and an ostrich.

Upon catching his breath Chappy headed out to San Antonio and the Home Gates Hotel. Chappy
wasn't so sure when his friend got shocked in the hotel.

But anyways Chappy headed into San Antonio and a trip to the Alamo. Chappy got a bit scared when guns and swords were pulled out and again Chappy was on the verge of death. Chappy was wondering what the heck was going on with his dimise.

Chappy's next adventure was a trip to the Texas Republic. Chappy took a swim in a 42oz. Strawberry Magarita. It was a 5 out of 5 on the duck scale! Many thanks to Megan our waitress who Chappy started to fall in love with. We found notes later on that said Chappy (Heart) Megan. We were wondering, thinking that maybe Chappy enjoyed the Guacamole a bit much and it had special powers-who knows.

Chappy HIGHLY RECOMMENDS!

After our margarita, bud light, and gucamole we headed to the boats for a cruise along the River
Walk. Chappy enjoyed seeing his fellow fouls along the boat's edge especially the malards. He likes them very much..

After the ride we went shopping and purchased a dress for Chappy's pal Heather and for his pal Tinsley. Then we headed to the Hard Rock Cafe where Chappy got photos with the manager and some cute waitors.

Then Tinsley's mommy found Chappy and his friends an awesome hotel, the St. Anthony. Chappy was very impressed with the valet parking. Chappy was especially with Mark who loaded his luggage and helped him to his room. John at the front desk (Hi!!!) was also so very helpful!

Chappy's favorite though was the bartender Luisana and front desk Frank where he sampled some grey goose vodka. Chappy is into Grey Goose!!!
